Hi, i'm Auncia!
Owner of Divine Canines
I've been training dogs for over seven years, driven by a genuine love for animals since childhood. My journey started with rescuing dogs alongside my mom which really sparked my passion for helping them on a different level. I interned at Potter Park Zoo for a summer, where I got to dive deeper into animal behavior and care. I also spent a year working at Waverly animal hospital, which gave me valuable insight into common canine health issues and illnesses, further enhancing my approach to training. In 2022, I attended Stateline Canine in Pennsylvania, where I expanded my knowledge of dog behavior and earned my certification in professional obedience and behavior modification.
I kicked off my professional career with Canines for Change in Grand Ledge, starting as a puppy raiser. It wasn’t long before my hard work paid off, and I was promoted to head trainer. In that role, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to raise, train, and certify numerous service and therapy dogs, an experience that has truly shaped my path and gave me a lot of hands on experience. After about six years as the lead trainer, I decided to take a leap of faith and founded Divine Canines. This new chapter allows me to continue making a difference in the lives of dogs and their human. I’m passionate about not just training dogs but also helping their owners understand and communicate better with their dogs. I truly believe in the importance of creating a strong bond between dogs and their families. My commitment to the mental and emotional wellbeing of dogs drives everything I do, and I strive to create a good environment where both dogs and their humans can thrive together in confidence!
